Your chance to shape high-speed Britain - Register for HS2 Supply Chain Conference

High Speed Two (HS2), our new North-South rail link, is the biggest and most ambitious infrastructure project in the UK, and the first new railway to be built north of London in over 120 years.

At £21.4bn, the construction of Phase One presents a great opportunity for businesses across the UK, from large to small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs), to benefit from tens of thousands of supply chain opportunities.HS2 will need a full range of works, goods and services, covering many sectors, over the total programme’s 20-year lifespan.By contributing their innovation, experience and capabilities, businesses from across the UK of all types and sizes will help make this an exemplary project.

HS2 is therefore offering industry the opportunity to attend its next Supply Chain Conference, to hear about the development of its outline procurement strategy and how businesses from across the UK can get involved in working on HS2.After the success of the inaugural conference last year, two events will run this year to ensure as many businesses as possible have the chance to be involved. The events, which are free to attend, will be held on 17 October 2014 in London and 23 October 2014 in Manchester.

HS2 has already engaged hundreds of prospective suppliers who have expressed an interest in business opportunities to date, gaining their valuable input and feedback. Undertaking a market engagement exercise at this stage in any programme is unprecedented.A recently launched ‘business’ section of the HS2 website ( ) will be regularly updated to keep businesses informed of forthcoming opportunities and how to compete for them.

These activities are just the start of an on-going dialogue to raise awareness and build relationships with the supply chain, ones which maximise the value of HS2 to both the local and national economy.HS2 is looking for businesses to continue this spirit of collaboration and start preparing now to seize the tens of thousands of opportunities across the UK that will arise as a result of the HS2 programme.

Places at the Supply Chain Conference are limited – anyone wishing to attend should complete the registration form on the HS2 website. This can be accessed by copying and pasting the following URL into your web browser: .
