Charity Golf Day Success

More than £3,500 was raised at a Charity golf day organised by Crewe based Jones Sheridan Financial Consulting and Banks Sheridan Accountants, on Tuesday, 23 October. Businesses and individuals from across the region clubbed together recently to raise money for The Wingate Centre in Nantwich and Macmillan Cancer Support.

Crewe Golf Club provided the venue and the course provided a stiff test for the teams, drawn from a range of local businesses and the private community.

All enjoyed an excellent day's golf, played in challenging but dry conditions and followed by a raffle and evening meal in the clubhouse.

Speaking about the event, Andrew Beattie, Director at Jones Sheridan Financial Consulting, said: “It's fantastic to see that despite the current period of economic uncertainty, people are continuing to show their support by attending charity events such as this.”

The Charity golf day made £3,520 and 100 per cent of the money will be split evenly between The Wingate Centre and Macmillan Cancer Support.

“As a business, we have been supporting The Wingate Centre locally for several years and hope that our contribution will go some way towards meeting the £10,000 needed for a new Sensory Room at the Centre,” highlighted Andrew.

“I want to offer a big thank you to the 12 investment houses that helped support this event, to Barclays Bank who contributed by matching the money raised in the raffle and to all players for a thoroughly enjoyable day,” he added.

17 teams took part and the winning team was captained by Tony Bray of threesixty Services.
