Moving House - Coronavirus Restrictions Eased

Created by

The Government has announced that house moves in England can resume from today, Wednesday 13th May 2020, subject to all parties involved in the move practicing social distancing.

What changes have the Government introduced?

On the 26th March the Government announced that all house moves should be delayed where possible.  These regulations have been updated to confirm that you may leave your home in order to visit estate or letting agents, to view residential properties, to prepare a residential property to move in to or sell and to move home.

Can I now agree a completion date on my sale/purchase?

Yes, a completion date can now be agreed.  We appreciate that the last 7 weeks have been a stressful time for parties in the process of moving house with all of the uncertainties, but from today we can agree completion dates.  Removal companies have been advised that they can return to work and Estate Agents can also reopen their offices.

Can I now market my property and allow viewings?

If you are looking to market your property for sale or let, or it is already up for sale or let, then you can now allow viewings subject to all parties being able to follow Government guidelines on social distancing.  We recommend that you speak to your estate or letting agent to discuss the best way to achieve this.
