Students Are Inspired By Barclays LifeSkills Workshops

Students teamed up with Barclays to gain valuable employability skills at a series of college workshops.

The Barclays LifeSkills team visited South Cheshire College to deliver sessions on self-promotion and communication and body language.

Students benefited from the activities which helped them to focus on and improve their interview techniques.

LifeSkills is a Barclays programme which aims to inspire young people to get the skills they need for a better future.

Barclays Bank operates in over 50 countries and employs approximately 140,000 people worldwide.

The LifeSkills team visited the College from the Barclays offices in Knutsford and Northwich.

The visit was organised and co-ordinated by the College’s careers team and the workshops were opened up to students on different courses.

South Cheshire College Careers Co-ordinator Debbie Leake said: “These workshops were a great opportunity for students to gain some valuable employability skills by working with business professionals from Barclays.

“Both sessions gave students top tips on how they can improve their interview techniques and impress potential employers.

“We are very grateful to the LifeSkills team for coming into college and visiting our students, and activities like this gives them a head-start when it comes to applying for employment.”
