Free Advice for businesses regarding fire safety

Cheshire firefighters are changing the way they respond to Automatic Fire Alarms (AFAs) from April 1st 2017, so are holding two free fire safety seminars, specifically aimed at businessess and responsible persons. This could include, business owners, business managers, or any nominated person responsible for fire safety?

From this date onwards, crews will not respond to any AFAs at the majority of business premises unless a caller at the building reasonably believes that there is a fire so it’s imperative that everyone is aware of this.

During the sessions delegates will learn about the changes to AFAs and the way firefighters respond to them. They will also find out what they will need to do if a fire was to break out in their business premises.

Also covered in the free event:

  • Completing a fire risk assessment and capturing the correct data

  • Your responsibilities as a business under the Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order 2005

  • Sprinklers

  • Business Continuity

  • Questions and Answers

The first session starts at 9.30am and runs until 12 noon and the second starts at 1.30pm, finishing at 4pm. There will also be a chance to ask questions relating to your business at the end of each session.
