June SMART Cheshire Innovation Launchpad: Fully Funded Workshops To Develop New Products &Processes

Last few places remaining for our June workshops! Online, and fully funded for eligible businesses in Cheshire and Warrington.

A practical, interactive programme to help micro and small to medium-size businesses develop new products, processes or services.

It might be you're thinking about changing an internal process. Perhaps you’re an accountant and have read about a secure IT system to help process customers’ data, and you’d like to use it in your business.

It might be that regulation changes, such as those due to Brexit, mean you need to adopt a new way of working.

It might be that you have an idea for a new product to help you develop your customer base. You might have spotted a gap in the beauty market, for example, and want to create a new face cream. Or, perhaps a company website would allow you to expand your wholesale business.

And that’s where our fully funded workshops can help, by supporting you through the innovation process.

An invention is creating something new that the market has not seen before.

An innovation is taking an existing concept or idea and improving it, typically using a steo-by-step process, going through various stages. This leads to a commercially viable product, service or process.

Our SMART Cheshire programme focuses on the innovation process for small business owners – how to go from that initial, sliver of an idea to launch.

It’s a series of structured, group workshops to help you to create that new product, process or service you’ve been thinking about.

We start the programme with the SMART Cheshire Innovation Launchpad. Over six, two-hour workshops, you'll look at whether you're ready to develop that idea, and whether your business is ready too.

It's an opportunity to develop your creative idea(s) in a safe environment where you’ll be supported and challenged. You’ll explore what innovation could look like for your business and the market.

After completing the Launchpad, many of our participants apply for our SMART Cheshire Innovation Challenge workshops.

Over two months, you’ll work through a series of practical exercises. Step-by-step, you’ll delve into your idea and test it.

It’s not an easy process but our steps are designed to help you to refine your idea and critique it.

To think: Is it right for my customer? (Am I sure I know who my target customer is?) What problem is my business solving? Am I ready for the change adding ‘something’ new to my business could bring?

When you’ve completed the programme, you’ll have a prototype that’s ready to launch. And, you’ll have a set of tools and techniques that you can use each time you have an inkling of an idea to develop your business.
