Local and Economic Update

Join us for our virtual Q3 Local and Economic Update event.

The number of members responding to the quarterly British Chambers of Commerce Economic Survey has provided sufficient data to enable an analysis of a local business economic overview as well as the regional and national impact.

Attendees will see an overview of The British Chambers of Commerce Quarterly Economic Survey (QES), the largest and most representative independent business survey of its kind in the UK following member businesses being questioned on a wide range of issues, including: home sales and orders, export sales and orders, employment prospects, investment, recruitment difficulties, cash flow, confidence and price pressures.

The QES results are the first economic indicator of the quarter, published in advance of official figures and other private surveys, and it consistently mirrors trends in official data. For this reason, the survey is closely watched by policymakers such as the Bank of England.

Subrah Krishnan Harihara, Head of Research, Manchester Chamber of Commerce, Commerce will provide an overview of the survey findings and compare local results with the national and regional picture.

Lindsay Lewis, Regeneration Manager, Crewe Town Council will update attendees on council activities.

Copies of the infographics summarising the key points of the national British Chamber of Commerce QES report will be available on the Chamber portal after the event.
