Eze Talk's 145 mile ride for Prostate Cancer UK

Our very own Mike Walsh is gearing himself up for an epic charity cycle from London to Amsterdam in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.

Sales Director Mike faces a huge 145 mile journey in just two days from June 9th – 11th. The route starts from the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park in London and the first day finishes in Harwich where the ferry will be boarded for the next leg.  The second day involves a cycle along the coast and through the Dutch countryside finishing at the Amsterdam Arena, home of Ajax FC.

This is the second year running that Mike has undertaken this challenge.  Last year, Mike joined with hundreds of cyclists to raise a total close to £500,000 in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.  Individually, Mike raised over £1000, a total which he hopes to smash this year!

Prostate cancer is the most common type of cancer in men and affects 1 in 8 men in the UK.  All funds raised will go to aiding Prostate Cancer UK crack the three core issues of improving treatment, diagnosis and prevention to stop prostate cancer being a killer.

Whilst Mike is looking forward to the cycle, he has a degree of trepidation: “last year’s challenge was fantastically rewarding, however it was tougher than I imagined!  It was great fun though and to be part of the team and spirit amongst all the riders was incredible.  Of course, it’s all in aid of a vital cause, prostate cancer, a disease that effects 1.1 million men each year.  I am really looking forward to taking part again and raising as much money as I can.”

James Beeby, Director of Fundraising at Prostate Cancer UK, said to us, “We’re delighted that Mike has decided to join the fight against prostate cancer and ride to raise vital funds for Prostate Cancer UK.  Ignoring prostate cancer will not beat it, and the money raised by our fantastic riders will fund ground-breaking research to help fight the disease”.

Any donations in support of Mike would be gratefully received and can be made here
