Company Profile
An Introduction……….

Rob Sproston has been involved in sport for many years. During the 70s and 80s he was a professional sports photographer; he travelled extensively photographing all the major sports events and establishing friendships with many of the sportsmen whom he now offers as after-dinner speakers.

In the mid-80s, the company “Rob Sproston Sports” was formed, initially specialising in arranging contracts for cricketers and organising special cricket events at venues such as the Don Valley Stadium and Crystal Palace. Rob took international cricket teams, featuring some of the world’s top players, to India, Sharjah, Nepal and elsewhere, playing in benefit matches and charity matches. Some of the greatest players in the world took part in these events.

In the 70s the Sportsman’s Dinner market had finally arrived. Since then it has developed into a multi-million-pound industry throughout the world. Rob Sproston is one of the few agents in the country who can proudly claim to have been there at the start of the Sporting Dinner business.

From his base in Nantwich, Cheshire, Rob works with a vast portfolio of clients. Speakers from all around the world are provided from one of the most impressive lists one can imagine. All the bookings are personally handled, all fees are personally negotiated and there is nothing better than a personal service from a person with undoubted knowledge of the after-dinner circuit.

Rob can also be seen at many events, acting as a compere, running the raffles and carrying out the auction for the memorabilia. The most important point is raising money for the event whether it be a sports club or a Charity.

From a personal point of view, Rob has been involved in sport all his life, playing cricket for his local club acting as Secretary and Chairman of the Club and spending almost 50 years as a committee member. He was a Director of non-league Witton Albion for seven years working to establish the club from the brink of closure, something which he was very proud of. Rob does have interests outside sport, a former President of the local Rotary Club, he was awarded a Paul Harris Fellowship, the highest award in the Rotary organisation, for his work with Rotary, also a keen supporter of the Guide Dogs for the Blind Charity, he does get time to spend with his family – occasionally.
