Company Profile
We give children with special needs the best start in life.
Unique across Staffordshire and Cheshire, no other Charity does what we do. Founded in 1969 as a playgroup for children with disabilities, today, our children have profound and multiple physical and learning disabilities, life-limiting conditions, challenging behavioural issues and complex medical requirements. All have a communication difficulty and most are unable to access mainstream early education due to a lack of suitable equipment, staff knowledge and confidence or due to their health and support needs.
Around 10-15% of the families we support live in the Crewe & Nantwich area. This year we celebrate our 50th birthday yet our service remains as in-demand as ever and our waiting list is growing. In 2018 we supported 60 children and our waiting list peaked at 28. Our commitment to each family usually lasts around four years, until children transition into primary school.

What We Do
Children attend a minimum of one morning or afternoon session each week for play, learning and development sessions supported on a one-to-one care basis. We are Ofsted registered to give parents peace of mind and a line of accountability, although Ofsted registration is not actually a requirement for our charity. Ofsted stated in their most recent inspection (2015) that children make significant and rapid progress with us.
The benefit to families and carers includes respite (families do not need to stay onsite whilst their child is in session), training courses (sensory processing, Makaton etc.) and informal family support (from advice on the home and finances to signposting to other services) and the opportunity to meet and build relationships with other families.
