Generation Routes For Women's Leadership (GROWL)

Join us for the launch of the Generating Routes for Women’s Leadership (GROWL) project on 29th June at Manchester Metropolitan University 12:00-17:30. We're using the methodology of 'Engaged Scholarship', and partnering with Northern Power Women, to work with organisations under the Northern Powerhouse to make a step change in nurturing female leadership talent. We're creating five 'Evidence-Led Enquiry Tools' that will help organisations to diagnose causes of leakiness in their pipeline of women's leadership talent, building an 'Ideas Bank' of better practice and nurturing a network that can use this toolkit to generate better routes for women's leadership.

There is considerable research evidence that tells us how organisational processes obstruct women’s progression and retention in leadership roles. Pioneering organisations are developing successful initiatives to create better routes for women’s leadership. GROWL will help you to access this knowledge and work out which insights and practices can drive innovation in your organisation.

The aim of the event is to share initial findings and to give you the chance to start engaging in evidence-led enquiry in relation to two of the project's five challenges: 'Mentoring and Sponsoring Women Leaders' and 'Synchronising Leadership Careers and Family Lives'. We will also be asking you to share examples of better practice. Do come along to hear more and to join our network!
