International Trade Forum

Are you a business working in International trade or are you looking to expand and break into the International marketplace?  


Following the success of our Forum in February, we are pleased to extend a warm invitation to join us at our second International Trade Forum of 2017. This event will provide a platform to learn about some important areas of international trade, whilst also giving you an informal environment to developbeneficial and supportive relationships with other local businesses within the trading community.


Intellectual Property


Gary Townley is a Business Outreach Manager for the Intellectual Property Office. Gary has been working in the field of Intellectual Property for over 30 years, and has been helping businesses develop and protect their creativity using IP.  He will be talking about understanding what IP you have, the importance of deciding if you can protect your rights overseas and how this may help your business to succeed internationally and give you a competitive edge.  


Focus Latin America


Paul Eadie, MBE, has worked on a consultancy basis as the Latin America Market Adviser for the Department for International Trade in the North West since 2004.  Paul has extensive experience of working with these markets, and is well known and respected in both the UK and Latin America, particularly Brazil.  Paul will be speaking about the current business climate and how to do business in this region.


We will also be hearing from Gabriela Castro-Fontoura of Sunny Sky Solutions who is an expert consultant based in Montevideo, Uruguay and can offer some very real and examples of the practicalities of doing business in Latin America.
