If you’re looking to increase brand credibility, brand trust, and reach even more potential customers, social media is not to be ignored. There are over 4 billion active internet users, and over 3 billion active social media users. If your business isn’t on social media, you’re immediately at a disadvantage to your competitors, who likely are already there.

Even when businesses are on social media, the basics are often being ignored, resulting in disjointed, off brand posts that turn off your audience, instead of capturing their attention.

We’ve put together our top 5 tips for social media, the basics for any business looking to maximise their potential.

1. Have a plan.

Create a series of themes for your posts, so at the start of each month you can sit down with some ideas in mind. If you’re struggling for ideas, take a look at the Key Dates for Social Media calendar on our website for inspiration.

2. Be consistent.

Don’t post too many times in one day & then nothing for week. There is nothing worse than too many posts or periods of tumbleweed.

3. Find the time.

By using social media scheduling tools, all you need to do is set out an hour or so of time at the beginning of each month to schedule posts in. All you then ned to do is keep an eye on it, responding to any comments or messages throughout the month just an extension of your email!

4. Think about your content.

What would you want to know if you were your ideal client? Make your posts relevant and engaging so your audience wants to share and comment on. The more engagement, the more increase and visibility across the platform!

5. Be visual.

Images are a great way to capture attention when people are mindless scrolling. By posting an image, you are making a connection, which more often that not means more engagement on a post.​
