The Cat Community Radio - CIC is a not for profit broadcaster operating the first and only FM Community license for Crewe, Nantwich and surrounding rural villages.

After a 25 year campaign with Ofcom asking them to offer the area a FM license and following a successful bid The Cat won the Community license in 2014 and was subsequently allocated 107.9FM as its broadcast frequency

As a licensed, regulated, broadcaster based in the Cheshire College we offer opportunities to the people, charities and businesses of the area to become involved, benefit from and support this community radio station specifically for Crewe, Nantwich and surrounding rural areas.

The Cat is completely operated by volunteers so please support your local community radio station.
What We Do
The Cat Community Radio -CIC broadcast on 107.9FM and on the web at

The station broadcasts 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with a variety of music, local interest shows, sports and event coverage in and around the Crewe, Nantwich and surrounding area.

As a not for profit organisation, operated by volunteers and as a community broadcast partner for the area we aim to give local people the opportunity to get involved with the station offering free training in order to help aspiring broadcasters take their first steps.

At "The Cat" we offer free publicity for local events supporting numerous community and charities efforts through our "What's On" and "Community Action" segments broadcast hourly.
